2012 ROSE

It is almost Rose season and Valkyrie is happy to offer the following wines for Spring 2013:

LECHUZA Garnacha Rosado 2012 {Cariñena, Spain}
100% Garnacha
Gently pressed Garnacha from a selection of old bush vines around the town of Longares, at an altitude of 530 meters, between the rivers of Huerva and Jalon. Vinification and aging in stainless steel tank.

AZUL Y GARANZA Rosa 2012 {Navarra, Spain}
60% Garnacha, 40% Tempranillo
Organic farmed grapes from the Murillo vineyard, located northwest of Las Bardenas Reales (a natural park in the desert). Clay-calcareous soils with very little water. Vinification and aging in tank.

RAVENTOS I BLANC La Rosa 2012 {Penedes, Spain}
100% Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir from the two highest plots on Serral hill. These calcareous soils were formed in the Miocene with a clay-sand texture, pebbles, and low organic material content. Vinification & elevage in stainless.

BODEGAS ERCAVIO Rosado 2012 {Tierra de Castilla, Spain}
100% Cencibel (Tempranillo)
From younger vineyard parcels of the estate (average 20 years) on limestone and clay soils at about 750 meters altitude. Handpicked at the end of September. Vinified in stainless steel tanks.

CELLER LAVINYETA Heus Rosat 2012 {Emporda, Spain}
46% Garnatxa, 21% Samso, 17% Merlot, 16% Syrah
From the old vines of Samso and Garnacha plus more recently planted vines in the vineyards of Mollet de Peralada and Espolla on poor soils with stones of schist and quartz.
